Lofgren Family Bench Dedication

August 17, 2010

Dear St. Anne's Families:

Although it has been a little over a year and a half since we lost our dear friends Parker, Caroline, Owen, and Sophie Lofgren, they and their family members remain ever-present in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. St. Anne's was an especially important part of each of their lives, just as they remain a lasting influence in our community. Shortly after their loss, the relatives of the Lofgren family commissioned one of our own St. Anne's parents, Marvin Lummis, to create a bench in their honor to be placed in the lower school playground, a place Owen and Sophie held especially dear. The bench is now complete, and I would like to invite any interested parents and students to join us on the afternoon of Saturday, August 28, 2010, from 2:00-3:30 p.m. to officially dedicate this memorial piece.

The afternoon will be celebratory and casual in nature. There will be a few brief comments from individuals representing the school and Parker's and Caroline's families. There will then be an ice cream sundae bar, cupcakes, and time for the students to play while adults visit and enjoy ice tea and lemonade. The field and the playground will be open, and balls, chalk, and assorted children's toys will be on hand for use. After the dedication, the memorial bench will reside in the playground as a lasting remembrance of this remarkable family, the values and principles that they embodied and cherished, and their continued importance to our St. Anne's family.

Please consider joining us if you are so inclined. I look forward to seeing everyone again soon as we begin a great year ahead at St. Anne's.

Sincerely,
