Message from the Head of School

Dear St. Anne’s Families:

I am writing briefly this evening with just a few more details and logistics regarding events Thursday and Friday of this week:

Gathering on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the St. Anne’s Episcopal gym

The gathering tomorrow evening at the St. Anne’s Episcopal School gym is more of a reception in nature than a traditional wake. There will be light snacks, water and coffee, guest books to sign, opportunities for kids and adults to write messages, and a chance for friends, family members, parents, classmates and others to share companionship. There is no formal program, and people are welcome to come and go as they please. 

 

Funeral Service Details on Friday, December 5, 2008

In the event families have not previously attended a Catholic funeral, we are providing a few details of the Lofgren family service on Friday to assist parents in preparing their children for the event if they choose to have their children attend. The service will begin with closed caskets at the front of the church. The caskets will process out of the church at the conclusion of the service. The service itself will be a traditional Catholic service (fairly similar to the traditional Episcopalian service, but somewhat longer in length). It is not yet determined if Communion will be offered to all or only practicing Catholics.

 

Reminder about Extended Day Friday

A reminder of our request that if you think you will need to take advantage of our Extended Day services on Friday, please e-mail Char Brady, Extended Day Director, at cbrady@st-annes.org and let her know the approximate hours you think you will need the service. It will be available from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, but having a sense of numbers will help with our staffing. Thank you.

 

Rescheduled Events

Please note in this week’s FYI and other communications that some events like athletic games and clubs on Thursday evening and Holiday Greens pick-up on Friday have needed to be rescheduled. We may need to make a few other shifts in our schedule of events in the next few weeks. Please be on the look out for these adjustments, and please call the school should you still need clarification.
