ART CAMP
Ceramics, Painting, Sculpturing and SilversmithingJune 10-14, June 17-21 and/or June 24-28
Monday-Friday
Morning Session: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and/or
Afternoon Session: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Art Camp is offered to students entering grades 2-8 this fall. You may sign up for the morning session, the afternoon session or both sessions. This camp features ceramics, painting, sculpturing, silversmithing and will be held in the St. Anne’s art room. Develop technical skills, self-expression, creativity, imagination with lots of time to create more complex and sophisticated projects. The instructor for this camp is Mr. Sigler, art teacher at St. Anne’s, along with ex-student assistants. Cost: $170/child per session.
A $50.00/child deposit is required for enrollment.
Full payment is due the first day of camp.
TAE KWON DO (Ongoing)
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.Tae Kwon Do is open to students from 1st through 8th grades. This program runs year-round and always welcomes new students. It is a student-oriented program geared towards the individual needs of each participant. Tae Kwon Do sequentially teaches the skills and techniques of Korean Martial Arts. Class will meet in Comfort Hall.
The instructor is Gary Smith. Mr. Smith is a third degree Blackbelt with Rocky Mountain Tae Kwon Do and has twenty-five years’ experience as an instructor. You may contact Mr. Smith at 303/343-8975.

FUN FOR THE YOUNG

St. Anne’s preschool co-teacher, Mandy Keiley, will be directing the St. Anne’s Summer Fun Program. Kate Cerullo, daughter of sixth grade teacher, Joan Whitbeck, will assist her. Presently, Kate is a lead preschool teacher in Highlands Ranch and has been an assistant soccer coach at St. Anne’s.
Because there will be construction near the Sisters’ Building, the Fun for the Young Program will meet in Mr. Dan’s Lower School art classroom. Children may sign up for 2, 3 or 5 days. Our day will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m. All ages are welcome on any/all days.
Areas of focus will include: socialization, problem solving, singing, games, arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor gross and fine motor activities, and a FUN time for all. Each child is asked to provide his/her lunch and each family will be asked to provide a snack, once during the session. This is a popular program and space is limited. MOVIE MAKING & ANIMATION
July 29-August 2Monday-Friday
Morning Session: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and/or
Afternoon Session: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Students entering grades 2-8 will begin to learn how to produce a stop-action, claymation, and/or moving picture and then publish it to a DVD, Quicktime file, a Powerpoint/Keynote presentation or the Internet. The use of point-and-shoot cameras, high- definition flash video cameras, iPod/iPad video cameras will be a daily occurrence. We will be using iPhoto to create a cool slideshow with music, iMovie to publish your movie, Hyperstudio and Scratch. Bringing video and photo content from home is highly encouraged as you will have plenty of opportunity to work on your own personal projects.
Students will be allowed to experiment and explore many ways in which to make a movie. All levels of experience are welcome.
This camp is taught by Glen Worthing, Director of Technology, St. Anne's Episcopal School with the assistance of Jennifer Rawlings, Technology Coordinator, St. Anne's Episcopal School.

Back-to-School Literacy Blast
August 12-16Monday-Friday
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Come read and write with us! This program is designed for incoming grades 1-4. Students will use technology to create their own fiction or nonfiction book, based on their interests and outstanding model texts. In addition to practicing writing and spelling through planning, drafting, revising, and editing their work, students will receive individualized reading lessons using high-interest books at their reading level. At the end of the week, your child will take home their own book (published using web software), "just right" books to read, and a list of websites and applications--all of which will help them blast into the new school year!
The program will be taught by Kate McFee, Nancy York and Jennifer Rawlings.
There will be a Presentation Party on Friday from 12:00-1:00 p.m.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GRAMMAR CAMP
August 12-16Monday-Friday
8:30 to 10:00 a.m.
This mini-course will focus on the basics of English grammar: parts of speech and sentence structure. Activities will include grammar drills, sentence-revision exercises, and diagramming. Grammar Camp is offered to students entering grades 6-8. The instructor is Rich Amend, a middle school advisor at St. Anne’s.
Cost: $125/child
Minimum: 10 students

MIDDLE SCHOOL COMPOSITION CAMP
August 12-16Monday-Friday
10:15 to 11:45 a.m.
This course will cover the fundamental aspects of written compositions: the writing process, paragraph-level organization and content and transitions. Activities will include written exercises, expository and creative writing, peer-editing, and revision. It is open to students entering grades 6-8 and is taught by Rich Amend, a middle school advisor at St. Anne’s.

MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH CAMP
August 12-16
Monday-Friday
12:15 to 1:45 p.m.
This course will use hands-on problem solving activities to cover such topics as fractions, variable equations, geometry and functions. It is open to students entering grades 6-8 and is taught by Jeff Di Tanna, a St. Anne’s middle school math teacher and 7th grade advisor.
Cost: $125/child
Minimum: 10 students

SPORTS CAMP

General Information
St. Anne’s Sports Camp has been an extremely popular day camp for over two decades. Boys and girls entering 1st through 7th grades during the fall of 2013 are encouraged to enroll. Campers may register for one or two weeks. Planned activities will include developmentally appropriate skill instruction, station challenges and game play. Motor skill improvement is balanced with an emphasis on fun, sportsmanship and camaraderie.
Special Note
As St. Anne’s Extended Day Care is unavailable, the late pickup policy from Sports Camp is as follows: As camp officially ends at 3:00 p.m., campers will begin to report out to the south gate at 2:50 p.m. and will be supervised in this location until 3:15 p.m. After 3:15 p.m., any remaining campers will be led to the P.E. office at which time the St. Anne’s late pickup charge will begin at a rate of $1.00 per minute for each minute after 3:15 p.m. This amount will be charged to the family account of the family member/representative undertaking carpool responsibilities that afternoon. (Parents must walk into the gym after 3:15 p.m. to pick up their child and any others that may be traveling in their carpool.) There will be no exceptions to this policy.
Rookie Division
This division is designed for students entering 1st through 3rd grades in the fall of 2013. Instruction and play will focus on the development of basic locomotor and non-locomotor skills, such as running, dodging, jumping and sliding. Emphasis will be placed on the mastery of beginning level sports skills. Daily activities will include catching, throwing, dribbling, striking, kicking and shooting in both game and station situations. These skills form the foundation of the sports of soccer, basketball, softball, lacrosse, volleyball and floor hockey.
Major League Division
Students entering grades 4 through 7 this fall are invited to enroll in the major league division of Sports Camp. Instruction will emphasize the development of intermediate and advanced sports skills. Daily activities will include catching and throwing, dribbling, striking, kicking and shooting. These skills will be practiced with an emphasis on speed, quickness and agility. Special attention will be given to throwing, catching and shooting “on the move”; sequential motor skill development; defensive form; game strategies and teamwork. Drills, stations challenges and game play in the following sports will be practiced: basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, soccer, softball, team handball and floor hockey.
The cost of Sports Camp for the rookie division and the major league division is $275 per week. This includes drinks, a daily snack and a camp T-shirt. Campers should bring lunch daily.

TUTORING
June through August
Tiffany Drees will be available this summer for Spanish tutoring as well as academic "coaching." (Academic coaching includes working with students to develop organizational skills, remembering strategies, note-taking skills and much more.) Mrs. Drees has been teaching 3rd-8th grade Spanish at St. Anne's for the past four years. Prior to St. Anne's, she taught middle school Spanish and worked as a middle/high school special education teacher in DPS and Cherry Creek. If you are interested in providing some extra summer support for your child, please contact her by e-mail at tdrees@st-annes.org or by phone at (303) 437-6537.
Mandy Keiley will be available for reading and math tutoring in June and before school starts in August. Mrs. Keiley taught first grade at St. Anne’s for 15 years and is currently teaching preschool. Before teaching at St. Anne’s, she was a preschool teacher for many years, followed by a K-3 reading teacher in DPS for 7 years.
